Since some years ago, we have been strongly committed to providing our customers with the highest level of services in the building and construction materials. Building and maintaining relationships with our customers are at the heart of our business and we have a planning and management style that is consultative and systematic.
Our senior management has rich experience in construction sector since 2010. In June 2020, Ghonsla Construction (Pvt) Ltd has been made as a private limited company. It has been incorporated with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Govt of Punjab. Ghonsla has also registered with international institutions like Harward I-Lab, Y-Combinator, Standford University and PFAN etc. This company aim is to facilitate complete solution of construction and services. It has wider approach of corporate culture and operations than its competitors. We believe in a proactive approach to all aspects of our business in particular to quality, safety and delivery. By getting this right, we give our customers confidence and peace of mind during the process of planning, design and construction. We directly employ the largest and most experienced construction team in Chitral and Gilgit and we have the ability to deliver any scale of construction project. We currently carry out construction services in one of the most difficult places and inhospitable conditions of the world where conditions are extremely dire. The roads and weather are extremely dangerous and harsh respectively. We provide services to the people of Hindu Kush and Himalaya. It is a promise to all our customers that we provide quality of work at all times and in all situations so that our customers will be satisfied with our work.
Hidayat ur Rahman is a seasoned ethnographer, archivist, entrepreneur, business leadership consultant, supply-chain specialist, and trainer, whose professional career combines enterprise development, organisational leadership, regional economic development, research, and capacity building.
As Chief Executive Officer, he has led the development and transformation of energy-efficiency and construction-service enterprises in one of Pakistan’s most challenging mountainous environments. His approach combines strategic vision with a close understanding of local markets, customer requirements, operational realities, supply chains, and the complete value chain. Under his leadership, the enterprise expanded its customer reach and sales approximately fourfold, while a team of more than 100 people was trained and mobilised. He has also played a leading role in the introduction and management of innovative product-financing models, enabling customers to access construction and energy-efficiency solutions through practical and commercially sustainable mechanisms.
Prior to his entrepreneurial career, Hidayat ur Rahman served for approximately eight years as General Manager with a subsidiary enterprise associated with Packages Limited, one of Pakistan’s most distinguished business groups, founded by the eminent industrialist Syed Babar Ali.
His tenure encompassed a wide range of responsibilities in general management, project development, operations, business development, human-resource development, training, institutional capacity building, and innovative financing. During this period, he was involved in the successful completion of approximately 1,500 projects, gaining extensive experience in managing projects from conception and planning through implementation and completion.
His responsibilities also included contributing to the preparation of project proposals for donors and development organisations, translating field requirements into coherent project concepts, implementation frameworks, and proposals for institutional support.
A particularly important component of his work was human-capital development. He undertook training and capacity-building responsibilities across different levels of the organisation—from the practical training of field workers and craftsmen to the professional development of core staff and management. This experience shaped his continuing interest in developing people and strengthening organisations through skills, systems, and effective leadership.
He was likewise involved in the development and implementation of innovative product-financing approaches, helping to establish practical financial mechanisms connected with products and services and thereby broadening their accessibility to customers.
Hidayat played an important role in the organisation’s expansion into the mountainous regions of northern Pakistan. He contributed to the establishment and development of offices in Chitral and Gilgit, extending institutional operations into geographically demanding environments characterised by dispersed markets, challenging logistics, and distinctive local economic conditions.
He also helped introduce and promote the concept of building insulation in Chitral and Gilgit, explaining its practical applications and benefits to communities, customers, workers, and construction professionals. His work helped connect insulation with the broader objectives of energy efficiency, thermal comfort, improved building performance, and sustainable construction in cold mountainous environments.
He remained associated with the organisation through the conclusion of its operations, providing continuity and institutional commitment throughout its final phase.
The experience acquired during these eight years became a significant foundation for Hidayat ur Rahman’s subsequent entrepreneurial career. It gave him practical expertise across the entire business cycle: strategic planning, project management, procurement, supply-chain management, workforce development, customer relations, financial innovation, operations, and regional expansion.
As an entrepreneur and business leader, he subsequently applied this experience to developing enterprises adapted to the distinctive economic and geographical conditions of northern Pakistan. His work has consistently emphasised the integration of local knowledge, commercially viable solutions, skilled human resources, innovation, and customer-centred business models.
His professional philosophy is grounded in the belief that sustainable enterprise in difficult environments depends not simply upon capital, but upon the ability to understand local realities, develop people, build reliable systems, and convert practical challenges into workable solutions.
Hidayat ur Rahman holds an MBA from a public university and master’s degrees in History, Political Science, and International Relations, together with academic qualifications in Commerce.
His multidisciplinary professional development has been complemented by specialised training and certifications in areas including venture advancement, advanced entrepreneurship, sustainable innovation, business operations, commerce, ethnography, library sciences, interior design, and carpentry. His training and professional exposure have included institutions and organisations such as LUMS, NICL/Sarlaandes, Stanford, Packages Limited, BTE, Florence, Allama Iqbal Open University, CWCC, and BISE Peshawar, among others.
The breadth of his academic and practical training reflects a career that deliberately crosses conventional disciplinary boundaries—linking business and management with history, ethnography, craftsmanship, supply chains, and regional development.
Alongside his business career, Hidayat ur Rahman has developed a substantial body of work as a historian, ethnographer, archivist, and independent researcher, with particular interest in the history, peoples, cultures, genealogies, documentary heritage, and historical geography of Chitral and the wider Hindu Kush region.
His research involves the examination, preservation, interpretation, and verification of historical materials, including old documents, manuscripts, genealogical records, inscriptions, archival photographs, and Persian-language historical sources. This work reflects his broader commitment to connecting documentary evidence with the cultural and historical heritage of the region.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of Chitral Printing and Publication (SMC-Private) Limited, through which he is developing an institutional platform for historical research, scholarly publishing, archival documentation, translations, documentary verification, and the preservation of Chitral’s intellectual and cultural heritage.
He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Scylax Consultancy (Private) Limited, extending his professional work into consultancy, research, enterprise development, and specialised advisory services.
Hidayat ur Rahman’s career is distinguished by the unusual combination of business leadership, entrepreneurship, technical and vocational training, supply-chain expertise, regional development, historical research, ethnography, archival work, and publishing.
His professional journey has taken him from managing large numbers of field projects and developing people at the grassroots level to leading enterprises, introducing innovative business models, establishing regional operations, conducting historical research, and building institutions dedicated to the preservation and publication of knowledge.
